Teddy was born at 27 weeks on January 12, 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He weighed 2 lbs 7oz and spent 144 days at BWH/Boston Children’s Hospital battling pneumonia, tracheitis, grade two brain bleeds, chronic lung disease, and severe apnea of prematurity. Teddy was also diagnosed with tracheobronchomalacia after many failed attempts to wean his respiratory support. Because of all he has been through, he still wears oxygen when he is asleep and has a feeding tube for nutrition support.
We are so proud of Teddy and are constantly in awe of his fighting spirit. He has recently joined the 20 lb club and enjoys spending time with his big brother Patrick! While this is not a journey we would have chosen for our family, we are oddly grateful for it in many ways. We feel blessed to have met his NICU team and consider them all a part of our family. They were his biggest advocates and supported/continue to support us in so many ways! We are proud to be a part of team “BWH Strollers” and will be walking in May to support March of Dimes and all they do for so many families!
