MY STORY

I am a proud member of the NICU fight club since 1981. I am the baby pictured above; most mothers are able to hold and see their babies, my mom was just given this polaroid picture because I was so premature. In 1981 on Nov. 3rd I was born 13 weeks too soon. I weighted 2lbs 8oz and spent a very long time in John Hopkins NICU. I was extreamly lucky to survive and thrive which is why my goal is $333. Sadly not every NICU baby will survive. My pregnancies were monitored very closely in the advanced fetal devolpment center. I have experienced premature labor and a pregnancy loss. I know how horrible it feels to be told moments before your c-section that your baby is premature probally will not be able to breathe, dont have my heart set on holding my son. This is why I walk. I walk because I was the premature baby fighting for my life who survived and thrived to become a Mommy who knows how scary a high risk pregnancy is and I am so greatful for the March of Dimes Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

WE NEED TO UNITE, CONNECT AND FIGHT FOR FAMILIES

With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.

At March for Babies you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.

Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
