Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES
The Indianapolis March for Babies happens on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend - a great way to honor your Mom and to help ALL moms to have stronger, healthier babies. Join us at Celebration Plaza at 9am for walker and team check-in and then enjoy a wonderful walk along the canal in Downtown Indianapolis that returns you to White River State Park for food, music, entertainment and more!

Meet the Weavers

Meet the Weavers "Our story began in December, 2003, after going into labor at 20 1/2 weeks, the doctors discovered our twin boys were suffering from twin twin transfusion syndrome, a complication of the blood supply between identical twins sharing a single placenta. Thought to have a 2 out of 3 mortality rate (up to 100% in severe cases), while we were uncertain of their survival, we were confident in their imminent arrival long before their due date. Thanks to the countless prayers of friends and family, and the hard work of our doctors, we were able to make it to celebrate the very important 28 week milestone. But, a few days later, our babies, Jack & Andrew arrived, weighing in at 3 pounds, 1 ounce and 2 pounds, 8 ounces. Spending the next 8 weeks in the St. Vincent's NICU, our babies benefited from the remarkable progress that has been made, in large part, due to the incredible efforts of the March of Dimes. Dear friends we met in the NICU introduced us to the March of Dimes and we have been marching ever since! We've lost 5 babies to miscarriage along the way, and subsequently had two more (singleton) babies (Elijah and then our little lady, Julia), also arriving prematurely at 35 1/2 weeks. Needless to say, our passion for this very important cause has only increased throughout the last 9 years. We have a contingency of amazingly generous donors that have walked alongside us for some or all of this journey and have enabled us to raise in excess of $35,000. In 2014, in celebration of Jack & Andrew's 10th birthday, we hope to raise $10,000 and help give every baby a healthy 9 months!"
