This year we have another great reason to get out there and walk! On October 22, 2007, we were blessed with a daughter, Sabrina Rose, born at 38 (beautifully full term) weeks!!! Without the advances in medicine, many of which were helped by funding from the MOD, she might not be here with us today!!
For those of you who are new to our team, on February 13, 2006, our son, John Joseph, was born. He was 1lb 7oz... and 14 weeks too early. He and many babies like him had to spend weeks in the NICU. Unlike other babies, John Joseph didn't get to come home. On March 23, John Joseph died from complications from his being born prematurely. It is in his honor that this team was created.
Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in the March for Babies (formerly WalkAmerica) support research that saves babies' lives.
We hope you can be with us again this year!!! Sabrina will be marching! Will you???
