Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities.

As the mother of four premature babies, I am thankful every day. All four of our children can be counted among the many lucky ones who have had no serious long-term complications thanks to access to excellent medical facilities and treatment. But having spent so much time with four babies in three different NICUs, we met many families who had to endure so much more. We are participating in March for Babies to give thanks for our miracles and to support those families who were not as fortunate.
