How You Can Help Me Reach My Goal!
    Donate Now    Walk with me!

On February 13, 2006, our lives were changed forever. Our son John Joseph was born... 1lb 7oz... and 14 weeks too early.

He and many babies like him had to spend weeks in the NICU. Unlike other babies, John Joseph didn't get to come home. On March 23, John Joseph died from complications from his being born prematurely. It is in his honor that this team was created.

On October 22, 2007, we were blessed with our daughter, Sabrina Rose. Her full-term arrival at 38 weeks would not have been possible without months of bed rest, medication, weekly monitoring (by an amazing perinatologist), and the support and research efforts of the March of Dimes.

Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in the March for Babies support research that saves babies' lives.

This will be our fourth year walking in memory of John Joseph. Last year, our team had over 60 members walking... in the RAIN!!! Their love and support is what keeps our family team going strong!!!

Some of you are new to our team. Some of you have been there from the start. Either way, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! Hope to see you April 26th!!

Tara & John Azzarello

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Your generous support will help fund:

  • Research into stress and other factors that may trigger preterm labor.
  • Programs to educate pregnant women to recognize the warning signs of preterm labor.
  • Tools to help health care providers find better ways to detect women who may be at risk for preterm labor.
