Maggie & Audrey, born at 36 weeks on Sept. 8, 2005

At 30 weeks, I went into pre-term labor. Thanks to the efforts of our medical team, the labor was controlled and precautions were taken to keep the girls safe inside. Maggie and Audrey were born healthy and happy at 36 weeks, thanks to our physicians, our hospital and organizations like the March of Dimes.

Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Your gift will support March of Dimes research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
