As many of you are aware, I am a big supporter of the March of Dimes and have been walking annually in the March for Babies fundraising event. I've been a NICU nurse for almost 10 years, a Intermediate Special Care nurse and an official graduate student to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for almost a year now. I have been given the blessing of three healthy babies but for the hundreds, maybe even thousands of patients I've cared for, they have not been that lucky. The March of Dimes has pledged to raise millions in money and awareness for prematurity and that is my goal and reason for contacting you.
The March of Dimes has made monumental discoveries in the perinatal world and has saved many many little babies with their research. See the following slideshow on what the March of Dimes has done for the medical world:

There is still SO much to learn about why these babies are born so early - in 40% of the cases of prematurity - the reasons are unknown. Their next big project is the breakthrough of a CMV vaccine which can save not only the development of babies but their lives as well. There is so much more to learn and to support.
I will be walking 6 miles with our NICU Nurses team on Saturday April 28th to help support and raise money for the March of Dimes. If you would like to help support my efforts by walking with our team or with monetory support, please let me know. Here is the link to my fundraising page.
