Dylan was born on March 1, 2005 which was over 2.5 months early. He suffered a grade 4 interventricular hemorrhage after the placenta ruptured. Dylan has diagnoses of hydrocephaly with two ventricular-peritoneal shunts, a seizure disorder often exacerbated by light, visual impairment including retinopathy of prematurity, gastro-esophageal reflux, chronic respiratory difficulties and delays in all areas of development. Dylan′s motor abilities cluster at the 5 month level, as he is now beginning to develop some inconsistent head control in supported sitting and supported prone. Dylan has started his second year of school & is making huge progress. He enjoys being the BIG BROTHER, the newest of his events this year! He can't wait to walk with Jackson & show him off to all the walkers. Each day is a blessing for him & our family. We are so happy to have received support from the NICU staff at Memorial Hermann Children′s Hospital that also received support from The March of Dimes. The continued involvement of the March of Dimes family helps us stay up to date on changes in many of the medical researches for Dylan.
