My niece Grace has requested that I raise money to help the March of Dimes prevent prematurity. She recognizes that the research supported by the March of Dimes made the difference in her survival when she was born at 28 weeks gestation, weighing 1.5lbs.

Research supported by the March of Dimes has identified a gene that causes preeclampsia, which causes 50% of premature births. They are now working to learn how to prevent premature births.

Preterm delivery can happen to any pregnant woman. In nearly half the cases, no one knows why it happens.
