Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

Having worked as a nurse in the NICU for years, saving the lives of premature babies has been a passion of mine for some time. But, my perspective was dramaticly changed on May 13, 2009 when my water broke at 34 weeks and my own baby boy was born premture. Thankfully, Jackson did not suffer any major complications and has no long term disablities as a result. Not every baby is so lucky. Please join me in raising money for this wonderful organization that helps save the lives of these precious babies!
