Dear Friends:
I was born a healthy baby girl on February 2, 1976.
I was blessed.
Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. This number is even more true for African American babies who are more likely to be born unhealthy and earlier than their white counterparts.
As president of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Philadelphia Graduate Chapter, I chose to be the team captain because I am so passionate about this cause.
Last year as Team Captain, I helped my team raise more than $8,700 for the March of Dimes.
Our team goal is $10,000, my personal goal is $500 and I'd love your help.
Please consider sponsoring me with your tax deductible contribution to the March of Dimes by donating online.
If you really want to make me smile, show up and walk with me and the Philadelphia Zetas on April 26 at the Art Museum here in Philadelphia.
Either way, I would appreciate your support of me and this very important cause. It is one that is well worth the investment.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
