One day... all babies will be born healthy.

Today... too many parents and families know the heartbreak of having a baby born fighting to survive.

We are one of those families.

As you may or may not know, our Will was born at 25 weeks gestation. In more basic terms, that's a whole trimester early. After some very harrowing first days and weeks spent in the NICU at All Children's Hospital, he now is a happy, funny, mischievous, never-boring ten-year-old who loves baseball, music and game shows. Although he still has more than his share of challenges, he's well on his way to maximizing his potential.

I've joined March for Babies because the March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies here in The 'Burg and across the nation. The action, research and support of the March of Dimes undoubtedly played a role in helping Will to not only survive his precarious start in life, but to become the amazing kiddo he is today.

The money we raise for March for Babies will help:

- support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects

- educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby

- provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care

- push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children

We are walking as a a family in our local March for Babies in Safety Harbor on April 28th -- and would love to have you join our merry band of walkers!
