Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in March for Babies support research that saves babies' lives.
Chadwick Anthony Coombe was my first baby as a result of my first pregnancy. My husband, Paul, and I were very excited! Chadwick was so loved and wanted. No doctor, website, or specialist can give a reason as to why my waters broke at 18 weeks 6 days gestation. I want to do what I can to help doctors and researchers find a reason why this happens and then devise preventative measures. Raising money for the March of Dimes is one way that I can help.
Please join me in raising money to research the causes of premature birth and the untimely death of preterm babies across this country. You can either donate money via this website or YOU COULD JOIN MY TEAM, raise money using your own March for Babies webpage, and march with me on April 25, 2010!
I've joined March for Babies because the March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will help:
- support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
- educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby
- provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care
- push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children
Please help by donating today!
