If you told me that just ten years into my working life I would have changed careers to work for a nonprofit organization with a mission to help babies and pregnant women, I might have thought you were nuts. That was before....
...before Allie-Kate came along in June 2007 weighing 1 lb., 2 oz.
...before I knew what it was like to watch your child fight for every breath.
...before we knew how the mission of a large nonprofit organization could touch our lives.
This is now.
Now...I work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) much like the one where our daughter was born for the nonprofit organization that touched our lives.
Now...I see far too many families start the journey Steve, Allie-Kate, and I began in June 2007.
Now...I have a beautiful, healthy daughter, thanks to life-saving technologies developed by research funded by The March of Dimes.
This year, I will be walking in honor of my inspiring daughter to help all babies.
Please join me.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
