On Halloween 2009 I was blessed with a healthy, amazing, full-term, NINE pound baby boy we named Tucker. I signed up for the March for Babies in my town the following year because I felt a strong urge to do something, no matter now small, to show how grateful I was to have been so blessed. I couldn't think of a better way to do that than to promote an organization that fights to give all babies the same healthy start.
This year is special to me because it will mark our 5th straight year doing March for Babies. Tucker is now 4 1/2 and is an amazing, loving big brother to Owen, who will be 2 in August, and our new baby boy, who we are expecting in early May. I started participating in March for Babies to do a good deed, and this year my son is old enough to understand that and do it with me. I'm proud that at such a young age, he's learning the importance of helping others.
Please consider supporting this important cause by making a donation to my walk today. More parents and babies deserve a great start at life by reaching full-term, and the March of Dimes does important work to make that possible.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
