Member of team name: Team Nicholas Richard
See more at my blog.
Nicholas was born at just 24 weeks- 16 weeks early. He spent 163 days in the NICU. During that time he was given artificial surfactant to help develop his lungs. If it wasn't for the March of Dimes artificial surfactant wouldn't be available and he might not be here today. Nicholas has really been affected by his prematurity. He is severly developmentally delayed. He isn't even sitting up yet, but he will get there intime. He also has Hydrocephalus which has caused 13 brain surgeries. He is deaf and is leaning to hear with a cochlear implant. Nicholas has had 20 surgeries in less than 2 years. He is a strong little boy and thanks to the March of Dimes he is alive.
Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help.
Please support my walk. Making a secure donation is easy: just click the 'donate now' button on this page. Thank you for helping me give all babies a healthy start!
