As many of you know, I have two boys - Caleb who is 6 and Luke who will be 4 in a matter of days. I carried both to term. Blessed.
But right away doctors noticed that Luke had a birth defect that would only be resolved with surgery when he was 4 months old. At only four months old, he had significant portions of his skull removed and would spend the next 10 months in what can only be described as a helmet.
I later learned that MOD researches the exact birth defect that Luke was born with. Thank goodness for MOD. Luke is awesome and bless his heart will forever get noticed for the head on his shoulders....who knew that flaming orange hair would start growing once he got out from under that attention-getting helmet!
This year I am again helping with CF's campaign to raise money for MOD. After all, it combines two organizations I care tremendously about! How can I not give?!
I am hoping you will join me. I'd like to personally be a part of raising at LEAST $1,000 from family and friends for this year's March for Babies.
I grew up with MOD as a part of our family's list of causes we sought to help. Never did I imagine its mission would one day hit close to home.
So if you haven't already made a personal contribution to support MOD...or even if you have and feel so inclined to consider another gift, please help me reach my goal!
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
