One day, all babies will be born healthy. We need to walk to get there.

Message from the Team Captain

The Perrone family would like to thank everyone that has made Gavin's Wolfpack so successful. Last year, 2012, was a great walk!!! Gavin's wolfpack was one of the largest teams at Quassy! There was a sea of green shirts for 3 miles!!! It was wonderful. Thank you!

As most of you know, prematurity has affected our family greatly. In 2006, our son Gavin was born 15 weeks early and weighed 1 pound 14 ounces. Gavin has overcome many difficult obstacles and today is thriving! Gavin is 6 years old and is playing baseball, basketball, and football. He absolutely loves Kindergarten! Gavin now is reading to us at bedtime and he is so proud of himself! When Gavin was born the doctors told us he had a 5% chance of surviving! Well, Gavin showed them!!!

Our youngest child, Caden was born on July 20, 2010 at 22 weeks gestation. Caden was beautiful! He was small but absolutely perfect. Caden looked exactly like Gavin did at birth but with Chris's dark skin! Caden weighed 1 pound 1 ounce and was too small to survive and he died shortly after birth. Losing Caden was very difficult and has changed our family forever.

This year we are very excited to have "PAPA" aka LT. Paul Vance, public information officer for the Connecticut State Police, lead our team as the 75th Anniversary Ambassador! Prematurity has affected our entire family and together we will support this wonderful cause so every baby has a chance!

Your gift will enable the March of Dimes to support research and programs that help moms carry their child to full-term and enable babies to begin life healthy. The funds raised will also be used to bring comfort to families with a baby in newborn intensive care, but most importantly help the families to cope with the loss of their little angels.

Thank you for your continued support...It means the world to us...
