This Spring, Brigham and Women's Strollers' will walk in the March for Babies to support the mission of the March of Dimes -to reduce premature births, birth defects, and infant mortality. This year marks the 75th anniversary for the March of Dimes , the charity that was founded to eliminate polio-and was successful in that mission- prior to refocusing on its current goals. Togetgher we will celebrate 75 years of lifesaving breakthroughs.
This is our 8th year walking for the March of Dimes. The BWH Strollers were once again the top corporate fundraising team in Massachusetts in 2012. Cumulatively, we′ve have raised over $164,000. This year we have set an ambitious goal of $41,000.
In 2012, for every $1 we raised, Massachusetts received $3 in grants and programs from the March of Dimes. This included funding for the training, development, and materials of a full - time Family Support Specialist position in BWH′s NICU. MOD has granted $865,000 for advance medical research currently being done at BWH. We were also recipients of two MOD Nurse of the Year Awards.
This year we look forward to continue to enhance our support of the March of Dimes in their effort to make sure every baby has a healthy start. We would be honored if you would join us. If you can't, please donate to our team from this page. It's fast, easy and secure.
Again, the mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. They won't, and we won't rest until we accomplish those goals together with you.
