Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. There'll be family teams, company teams and people walking with friends - it's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families. Join our event and walk with us to raise money for babies right here in our community!

Meet the Carnegie Family

On January 4, 2016 Aaron and Sandy Carnegie along with big brother Bryce became a family of four welcoming Canaan Michael Carnegie. Doctors spent the first 7 minutes of Canaan's life resuscitating him. Shortly after he was medevac'd to CHKD and admitted to the NICU. It would be four long days before Sandy was able to hold her newborn baby. Canaan spent 15 days in the NICU strengthening his weak lungs. The Carnegies were overjoyed to bring their little guy home. Just four short weeks after coming home Canaan would be rushed back to the hospital. Canaan was having trouble breathing and his body temperature was extremely low. Canaan was admitted to the PICU for acute hyperthermia and intubated because of several pauses in his breathing. For several weeks Canaan was on a ventilator and fought hard to get better. It was discovered Canaan has a narrowing of his airway and has undergone eight procedures to open his airway. Canaan receives daily steroid treatments to help keep his airway open.
