Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES

Please join us from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, Saturday, November 10, at Town Common for our 2018 March for Babies Walk in Greenville, NC. By starting a team and fundraising you are fighting for the health of all moms and babies!  Healthy Moms, Strong Babies.

Start your team today and personalize your fundraising page by telling your story or the story of who you are walking for. If you have questions, please contact Vickie Goodwin at [email protected] or call 919-424-2164.  We also have an amazing tool for facebook.  Link your fundraising page to your facebook page and watch the donations come in!  Be sure to only link them together through your fundraising page so that you receive credit for those donations.

On the day of the event, sign in for the event at the registration tent, pick up your t-shirt if you have personally raised $100.  If you have a child 12 and under, go on-line and register them for the Superhero Sprint, sponsored by Publix!  The registration form and release form is on the event page, and will save time the morning of the event so you and your family can enjoy the many activities provided. Your child will receive a really cool Superhero cape (picked up at the Superhero Sprint tent the morning of the event), and gets to participate in the Superhero sprint at 9:30 am.  The walk starts at 10:00 am.

Raise $1,000 personally and you become a Circle of Champion and you will receive a t-shirt at the event and a signature cap by mail!  Plus there are other prizes to be won, just look at the incentive page attached.  Raise $5,000 and your team receives a 10x10 tent to gather at and enjoy the morning.  Good luck and we look forward to seeing you at the event. (Look under attachments for great ideas and information.)

The Howerin Family

Every parent is excited when they find out that their family is growing! On February 9, 2017, Lee and I went for our anatomy ultrasound and our world was turned upside down. We were told that our son, Emmanuel, had a fatal birth defect called Limb Body Wall Complex, and that he could not live outside of the womb, and that we would be lucky to carry him full term. Our world was turned upside down. In a follow-up ultrasound, Emmanuel yawned at us and waved at us...as if he knew we were watching. We chose in that moment to give Emmanuel as much life as we could. So we made a bucket list. We took Emmanuel and his two sisters to places to do the normal things families do, like the zoo, the aquarium, a baseball game, the beach, just to name a few. Emmanuel was delivered ALIVE! on June 13, 2017. He lived for 73 amazing minutes and was loved for a life time in those short minutes. Emmanuel is why we walk. We walk so that hopefully, no other family will have to experience the heartbreak we have of losing a child. We walk so Emmanuel's memory will stay alive. We walk so others will get what we will not.
