September 17, 2017 was the scariest day of my life when I was rushed to the hospital and told I was going to be delivering my baby girl 4 months early with a low-chance of her surviving. Aria was born at 24 weeks weighing 1lb. 7oz. Aria faced many complications including chronic lung disease, a PDA, ROP, bilateral brain bleeds and a cyst on her brain. Aria spent 127 days in the NICU and has had 4 surgeries. I had to wait 9 days before I could hold her and my family had to wait one month before they could hold her. Aria had her first bottle after two months and got to wear her first outfit at 1 ½ months. On January 22, 2018 I was able to finally bring our little girl home. Despite the number of complications Aria has faced, she is now a happy healthy (almost) 2 year old. Aria now only requires oxygen when she is sleeping if she gets sick. March of Dimes has been an incredible contributor to bringing our family, friends and even strangers together to celebrate the fighter and miracle that Aria truly is.
