This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES
Welcome to Greater Columbus March for Babies! The 2016 March for Babies will return to COSI, Genoa Park and the Downwotown Riverfront this year! The walk will take you across the Scioto River to the Downtown Riverfront and back, where you'll find our March for Babies Kids Zone with bounce houses, games, sports activities and more! We'll also feature a DJ for dancing, great food and fun for the whole family! March for Babies is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we can’t wait for you to celebrate with us! The money you raise supports programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten the health of babies. So come out and join us in this great celebration of babies!

Meet Mackenzie and Maddison

Our story begins in January 2012 when Ryan and I found out we were expecting our first baby. I had a pretty textbook pregnancy up until 16 weeks. I was taken to Riverside Hospital where they confirmed my water had broken. A couple of weeks later, I experienced the worst pain I have ever felt. We rushed to the hospital and this time they had to tell us our baby had died. A few weeks after our loss I met with my OBGYN so we could create a plan for my next pregnancy. We had planned for weekly ultrasounds and would also do P17 – Progesterone shots weekly to stop preterm labor. It was about 8 weeks after losing Landon that we found out we were expecting again. We were having twins! My babies were born at 25 weeks 6 days. Mackenzie Rose was 14 inches long and 1 lb. 15 oz. Maddison Grace was 14 inches long and 1 lb. 12 oz. Much to our surprise they both came out crying which was literally music to our ears. They did let us see our babies before they were whisked away to the NICU. The girls spent 3 months in the NICU and came home on oxygen and apnea monitors. They were able to escape the NICU without any surgeries. Today the girls are doing great and physically and developmentally caught up to children their same age. We are proud to represent the March of Dimes and to share our story to help create a future where all babies are born happy and healthy!
