Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

Thank you for joining us on Sunday, April 24th! It was a beautiful day to honor, celebrate and remember all babies in our lives. Team William and John

William was born on April 17th at 22 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1lb 3oz and was 11.5 inches long. John was born 39 hours later on April 18th at 22 weeks and 6 days. He also weighed 1lb 3oz and was 12 inches long. John passed away when he was 5 days old. William spent 6 months in the NICU, and while there, he had a grade 3 brain bleed, a perforated bowel, and retinopathy of prematurity. The long term effects of prematurity have left William with a paralyzed vocal cord, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, asthma, and autism. While in the NICU William received surfactant therapy, a treatment discovered through March of Dimes funded research. Today, he is an energetic 5 year old. His parents Paul ad Breanna are grateful to the March of Dimes and walk in March for Babies to help create a future where all babies are born happy and healthy. Team William and John participated in their first March for Babies walk in April of 2011, the day before William's first birthday on April 17th. Since 2011, they have held bakes sales and sold wrist bands to raise $11,900 to fight prematurity in memory of John.
