2017 Local Ambassador Skye Aubry

Rose Aubry first learned about the March of Dimes when her third child, Skye, was born at 26 weeks, weighing 1lb 14oz. Today, she is a healthy, happy “little fashionista” who holds her own with brother, Josiah, 11, and sister Azaree, 6. Rose thinks Skye’s “feisty” personality developed while she was fighting to survive for 162 days in the NICU. She is a thriving 20 month-old. Rose knew nothing about preemies before Skye was born and worried about bonding with Skye while she was in the isolette. Kangaroo Time, the March of Dimes program that helps moms bond with their preemies through touch and snuggling, helped Rose hold Skye for the first time about 6 weeks after she was born. Rose said, “Every day, good or bad, was a day to celebrate life in the NICU!” The family walks with the Sunshine Health team and is so excited to serve as Broward County’s 2017 March for Babies Ambassador Family.
