We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. There'll be family teams, company teams and people walking with friends - it's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families. Braylen Marshall

In 2014 Charlene Pettway was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first child. Her pregnancy was progressing normally, until Braylen was born 13 weeks early, weighing just 2 pounds, 2 ounces. Braylen received two spinal taps within his first 24 hours of life to check for infections and faced problems breathing and maintaining his body temperature. After more than 90 days in the NICU at Hutzel Hospital, Braylen was finally able to come home. Today, he is a happy, healthy two year-old and loves laughing, dancing and keeping his parents busy every minute! The Pettway-Marshall family knows the significant role that March of Dimes research played in helping Braylen get this far. As the 2017 Detroit Ambassador Family they will share their story and help raise awareness of premature birth. They hope their story can provide hope for other families and help the March of Dimes to reach the day when all babies are born strong and healthy.
