Grayson and Hudson

This is the amazing story of two sisters and the blessings their family received! Hannah began swelling in her hands at 25 weeks. At her 26 week appointment, her blood pressure was elevated. At 28 weeks her feet were swelling. At 30 weeks, her blood pressure was out of control and she was put on bed rest. The diagnosis was gestational hypertension. Four days later, she developed a horrible headache. Her blood pressure was elevated, she had chills and she began vomiting. Her husband call the doctor who had her come to the hospital. She was diagnosed with Preeclampsia and was placed on hospital bed rest. She re4ceived steroid shots for his lungs, blood pressure medicines and magnesium. On the ninth day, the doctor decided to do an emergency C-section. His Apgar score was 8 then 9. Patrick followed the isolette to the NICU and spent time with Grayson, then with her. She didn't get to see sweet Grayson almost 24 hours. The second time she saw him, she got to hold him even though he was hooked up to all the cords, wires and tubes. After a few days, he graduated to a regular isolette. Then a couple days later he could were clothes after he could manage his body temperature. The he was moved to the regular NICU. Then he had to learn to suck, swallow and breathe. He had bradycardia and apnea. He was barely 4 pounds. 23 Days later, he finally was able to come home on Hannah's birthday! Best. Day. Ever. Not even six weeks after Grayson was born, Heather, Hannah's sister, delivered Hudson. Heather had a spontaneous rupture of membranes at 32 weeks gestation. She began to swell and her blood pressure increased. She took Magnesium Sulfate 2 to stop the contractions she was having, but it was unsuccessful. Her water broke and Hudson was born. He was taken to the NICU where he had to learn to breathe, eat and grow on his own. Hudson was given surfactant to stabilize his lung function. He was on by-pap and had bradycardia. Finally, the doctors decided he was anemic and gave him a blood transfusion. Hudson showed great progress and was finally able to go home over a month after he was born. The family is so blessed with two active healthy 3 year old now!
