Why I walk

Our twins were born more than three months early, our daughter weighing 15 ounces, her brother 22 ounces. Our tiny girl Jaina died after two days of kidney disease and infection. Cade spent four bumpy months in the NICU before coming home -- something that wouldn't have happened without March of Dimes-funded research that developed surfactant therapy. He's now a healthy 5-year-old who loves coloring, trains and Doc McStuffins.

We walk for the March of Dimes to honor those whose fundraising and research saved our son, and we walk with hope that we'll help fund a cure for what took our daughter. We hope others will benefit from our experience and fundraising and not have to go through what we have.

Your gift matters

Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
