I participate to help all moms and families experience the joy of a healthy baby. With nearly 4 million babies born each year, we have a lot of work to do to help them all. The funds I raise enable March of Dimes to support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy that truly makes a difference to families in our community and across the country. Our daughter was born at 28 weeks weighing 1# 15oz due to HELLP syndrome. We are grateful that she thrived in the NICU with very little medical intervention. The care she received to grow strong and healthy and advancements in technology played a big part in her homecoming after 56 days in the NICU. The March of Dimes website was a valuable resource as we navigated being parents to a preemie and NICU experience. We praise God for this miracle and the tireless efforts of professionals who have dedicated their lives to giving every baby a fighting chance.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
