Premature birth affects about 450,000 babies here in the United States. Meet baby Peighton, she was born premature at 35 weeks and 5 days on October 17th, 2015. Her doctor's could not believe how great her lungs were considering she was only 3lbs and 10oz. After she was delivered, she was in the NICU for 15 days which during this time she was tub fed, and learned how to suck a bottle. She was breathing on her own but due to the fact she was premature, her oxgen still needed to be regulated. She also had to undergo several tests. On November 1, 2015 she was released from the hospital and is doing remarkably well. This is why we walk, we’re walking in March for Babies to get the message out not only about baby Peighton but about this terrible problem and how you can help. Please make a secure donation to help us reach our goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies like baby Peighton can get the strongest start possible.
