Sophia Eck

Four year old Sophia Eck is the 2015 Central Pennsylvania York Ambassador. Sophia was born at 27 weeks and 4 days only weighing 2 pounds and 9.8 ounces. Sophia experienced a lot of problems in the 53 days that she was fighting for her life in the NICU, including a bleed on her brain that the doctors told her parents, Joe and Buffy, could pose problems in the future. Today Sophia is 4 years old and suffers from Cerebral Palsy which was a result of the bleed on her brain. She uses a walker and a wheelchair to get around, but thanks to her therapists that she sees weekly, she is now able to take several steps without any help! Her parents say that Sophia is the most strong willed individual they know and they believe that she will continue to get stronger!
