We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. Meet Jayden
Meet Jayden
Jayden Olano was born at 26 weeks gestation, just right over 2 lb. He overcame four surgeries and stayed over 100 days in the NICU in Plantation General Hospital in Plantation, FL.
Jayden had NEC that affected his intestines. After six weeks and going through two bowel surgeries he began to prepare for eye surgery. His blood vessels in his eyes were stunted due to the prematurity. This caused him to go through very invasive eye surgery to ensure his long term vision wouldn't be compromised.
Towards the end of our long journey, Jayden developed 2 hernias due to the scar tissue from his stomas. Doctors felt this was a cosmetic procedure and a very simple one after everything Jayden had gone through. That marked Jayden's last surgery before he was 1 year old.
It was through is strong will, fighter attitude and the grace of God that he is healthy four-year-old today. Jayden lives in Gwinnett County with his parents, Kathy and William, and his little sister, Zoe.
