Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

Meet Faline

Gloria Fracasse was so excited to become a parent to identical twin girls. About half-way through her pregnancy, Gloria had an accidental fall. She was immediately put on bed rest to save her babies. However, three days later she experienced a devastating complication that required the twins to be delivered by an emergency C-section. Falicia and Faline were born at 23 weeks gestation, weighing only 1 lb. 3 oz and 1 lb. 6 oz, respectively. Falicia lived for three days, but tragically suffered a double brain bleed and did not survive. Faline spent 110 days in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at Shands before going home in early February of this year. Today, Faline is a vibrant 4 month-old, who currently is dealing with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). She is expected to need glasses, but is otherwise a healthy and beautiful baby!
