Important Update

Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

ABOUT MARCH FOR BABIES
March for Babies is on Rain or Shine! Your March for Babies event will take place rain or shine. We look forward to seeing you there on behalf of the moms and babies. Put your walking shoes on and join all the teams and individuals who care about stronger, healthier babies! Premature and sick babies still need our help, so remember to bring your sponsor form. If you have donations from family, friends and co-workers, we will be on hand to collect them for you. If you are unable to attend, keep the cash and checks in a safe place and call our office to make arrangements to collect your donation. Thank you for being a part of March for Babies and for giving hope to families everywhere! Welcome to March for Babies Sacramento! We meet on the West Steps of the State Capital for an inspirational launch by our March for Babies 2015 Chair Jean Shiomoto, Director, State of California Department of Motors Vehicles. The walk leaves from Capitol Mall and continues through Old Sacramento onto Front Street. You will continue your walk through downtown Sacramento, which will take you on a 3 mile route that concludes on 10th Street, back at the West Steps of State Capitol. This is the festival zone where music will be playing and we will have lots of activities for the kids! Parking will be available at any of the nearby City of Sacramento parking garages for a nominal fee. March for Babies is our biggest fundraising event of the year, the money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten the health of babies.

Team captains can enter as cash and mark "received" any money raised through promotions, such as bake sales and casual days and any sponsorship money paid to the March of Dimes, on their team's online form. Record all donations on your online sponsor form before you turn in cash and checks to the March of Dimes!

Our ambassador

Meet Elijah

Born early at 25 weeks and 1 day in 2002, weighing just over 1 pound and measuring 11 inches long, Elijah Jackson spent 7 months in a newborn intensive care unit (NICU). He pulled through after surgery to close a duct between his heart and lungs, a tracheotomy and a procedure to correct reflux disease. He also received surfactant therapy, developed in part with funding from the March of Dimes, to strengthen his tiny lungs. When he left the hospital, he needed a ventilator and oxygen for 2 more years. Today, Elijah is a happy, healthy 12-year-old boy who enjoys school and is an avid sports fan. He is serving as the 2015 National Ambassador with his parents, Elise and Todd Jackson.
