Our March for Babies celebration is still on, but it looks a little different! We are rapidly preparing for a new, virtualized event that will be fun and engaging for everyone. This change in format aligns with the newly released CDC guidance for large events, to help ensure the safety and health of our participants. More details on our new format to come soon!

Meet Drew

Drew was born on Monday, December 30 -- at only 25 weeks and 3 days. He was just 2 lbs., 3 oz., and 13.25 inches long. Drew is a fighter. He was born with a moderately healthy heart but premature lungs. He was on a ventilator three times throughout his hospital stay and on breathing supports for the first three months of his life. It would have been even more difficult for Drew to breathe, but he received surfactant, thanks in no small part to the March of Dimes research. That made an incredible difference in not only his growth, but his survival. Our main support system this past year has been other families who have or have had babies in the NICU. They truly understand our experience and have provided so many ideas, support, and guidance to our situation. We so appreciate the power of people helping other people. We have seen this through strangers giving us little care packages and for friends and family reaching out to us. We’ve also seen the support through the March of Dimes organization and individuals sponsoring it and making generous donations. Drew has received Synagis injections that help him to build up immunities to RSV thanks, in large part, to funding and research provided by March of Dimes. Through this organization, our son is here and continues to thrive. Our hearts and our gratitude will always go to the March of Dimes and its wonderful support system.
