Since 2020, Charles and I have walked with March of Dimes in honor of our daughter Ainsley, born too premature to survive, along with 1 million babies world-wide every year; 75% of their deaths were preventable. Florida currently has a 10.70% preterm birth rate and a D+ for maternal & infant health. 

This year, we also walk not only in memory of Ainsley, but in celebration of our son Jesse Charles!! Jesse was born slightly premature and spent 2 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit battling Respiratory Distress Syndrome. RDS remains among the top causes of infant mortality in the United States. We were so very lucky to have had such an amazing NICU clinical team and to receive support from the NICU Family program provided by March of Dimes during this scary & stressful time. 

We participate to help ALL moms and families have the joy of a healthy & full-term baby by raising money for March of Dimes. The funds we raise enable March of Dimes to support research preventing preterm birth, provide support to NICU families, address health disparities by race & income, provide resources to pregnant women & new mothers and so much more. Through the money donated over the years, March of Dimes has helped contribute to innovations like folic acid supplementation, surfactant therapy for premies, the polio vaccine and lowering maternal mortality rates.
