We march for babies because our family has personally experienced the many reasons why this walk exists. Today, we support this cause not only because of our own journey, but because we understand how critical and life-changing this work truly is.
In 2021, at 28 weeks pregnant, due to complications, we gave birth to our beautiful twin boys—Aversen and our angel, Aiven. Aiven lived for just 15 hours, but he remains our greatest “why.” In his honor, we do all we can to support families who experience infant loss and those navigating the NICU journey.
In January 2025, while pregnant with our daughter Aviana, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks. Shortly after, at 31 weeks, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia, which required hospitalization until it was safe to deliver at 34 weeks. Once again, we faced serious maternal health challenges and another NICU journey.
We don’t know what it’s like to have a full-term or uncomplicated pregnancy. We have never experienced bringing our babies home shortly after delivery. While that reality is difficult, it continues to remind us how important it is to support our nurses, doctors, NICU babies, families, and ongoing research. We know that every dollar raised makes a meaningful difference—even in the smallest ways.
Infant loss and miscarriage.
Premature birth.
Birth defects or serious illness.
Infertility.
Maternal complications and maternal loss.
These are real, lived experiences for so many families.
That is why we continue to advocate for equitable access to maternal healthcare, healthy pregnancies, and healthy babies.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
