Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. Prematurity does not discriminate, as premature births occur in all races, educational backgrounds and financial situations. However, African American women are at a greater risk to have a premature birth than any other nationality. My daughter Bryanna's due date was set for March 28th in 1994. However, she was born Feb 1st, weighing in at 2 pounds and 15 oz. Today, she is a healthy adult making her way through life. Many parents are not so fortunate. Research supported by the March Dimes is one of the major reasons she is with us today! It is because of this research my son Evan was born full term and healthy! This is why I continue to support the March of Dimes. I completed my first walk in 1984, and I hope you will sponsor me as I raise money to support research that saves babies' lives.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
