On December 29, 2025, my beautiful nephew Daniel was born prematurely at just 24 weeks and 1 day. Throughout her pregnancy, my sister faced uncontrolled bleeding that led to a life-threatening hemorrhage, putting both her and Daniel at risk. Despite everything, Daniel entered this world fighting—breathing on his own at first, feisty, strong, and absolutely perfect. On January 7, 2026, complications from fluid around his heart became too much for him, and he passed away. Throughout this unimaginable journey, my sister, her wife, and Daniel were surrounded by an incredible NICU team whose compassion, care, and love never wavered—you could see the heartbreak in every one of them as we said goodbye. We walk so others have a greater chance to fight and survive. We walk so every NICU family feels supported. We walk because Daniel’s story matters. We walk so that others may live.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
