At 24 weeks I went into labor with our beautiful twin girls. It was a day I will never forget, especially hearing my husband say to me under anesthesia “they’re perfect”! Of course they were. What followed was a rollercoaster of fear, love, and strength — weeks in the NICU where the staff supported us every single day. After 21 days, we said goodbye to our precious Sunny girl, while her sister continued fighting and growing. That journey showed me how critical March of Dimes’ work is for families facing preterm birth.
