Maternal health and birth equity are not just causes I support—they are deeply personal to me.
Through Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (Kappa Beta Zeta Chapter), I have partnered with March of Dimes to provide critical resources and advocacy for moms and babies. Our Stork’s Nest program helps ensure that expecting mothers in underserved communities receive the prenatal care, education, and incentives they need for healthier pregnancies.
But my advocacy is also fueled by my own experience. During my pregnancy, I developed HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening complication that could have been fatal. My health concerns were dismissed—until a last-minute blood test led to an emergency delivery. My son, Dion (DJ), spent nearly three weeks in the NICU, an experience that deepened my resolve to fight for better maternal and infant health outcomes.
Too many mothers—especially Black women—face preventable complications due to disparities in care. I am committed to championing equitable, responsive healthcare so that every mom and baby receive the support they deserve.
Your donation fuels this mission, ensuring more families have access to the care, advocacy, and resources they need.
Join me in making a difference. Every contribution brings us closer to a world where all moms and babies thrive.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
