My journey with March of Dimes began many years ago when I joined Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national service sorority built on the idea that small acts of service can make a big and lasting difference. One of our traditions was participating in the March for Babies event, a chance to support families, celebrate little fighters, and honor the babies who left footprints on our hearts far too soon.
What started as a service project quickly became something much deeper for me. Every walk introduced me to stories of strength, heartbreak, resilience, and hope. I saw how profoundly premature birth affects families not just in the moment, but for a lifetime. I learned how March of Dimes steps in with research, support, and advocacy to make sure more babies get the strongest possible start.
Today my connection to this mission is even stronger. For the past 25 years I have worked in the maternal infant care space, helping provide hospitals and caregivers with the technology and devices they rely on to protect the tiniest and most vulnerable patients. I have seen firsthand how fragile those first hours and days can be and the impact that compassionate care, innovation, and education can have on helping babies not only survive, but thrive.
Marching is not just a tradition for me anymore.
It is personal.
It is purposeful.
It is a way to stand with the families I have met, the clinicians I work with, and the babies whose lives remind us why every step matters.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
