I’m honored to serve as a Team Captain for the March for Babies walk on behalf of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and my chapter, Omicron Delta Zeta, because this cause is deeply personal to me. I am the mother of a baby who was born asleep and a rainbow preemie. My personal journey into motherhood opened my eyes to how fragile — and how sacred — maternal and infant health truly is. What started as a personal experience has grown into a lifelong commitment to advocacy.
Today, I am a Birth Justice Doula and a strong youth advocate, with a special focus on Black maternal health and neurodiversity. The reality is sobering: Black mothers face significantly higher rates of pregnancy complications and maternal mortality, and Black babies are more likely to be born prematurely. These disparities are not just statistics — they represent families, stories, and futures that deserve better outcomes and stronger support systems.
That is why this walk matters.
Through the partnership and shared mission of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and March of Dimes, we work to bring awareness, education, resources, and action to the fight for healthier pregnancies and healthier babies. Together, we advocate for equity in care, support research, and stand beside families navigating difficult starts.
I walk for the babies who arrived early.
I walk for the mothers who need to be heard and protected.
I walk for families who deserve access to quality care and healthy beginnings.
Your donation helps fund research, programs, and community initiatives that support moms and babies when it matters most. Thank you for standing with me, my chapter, and this mission to give every family the best possible start.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
Thank you for your support!
