I walk because my daughter Marisa was born at 27-1/2 weeks and weighed 1 lb. 14 oz. Today we are so lucky that at 24, Marisa is a thriving and healthy young adult.
Every year, half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death and many life long disabilities. The funds we raise in March for Babies support research that saves babies' lives.
