With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help. 
 

In April of 2025, my life changed forever.

I gave birth to my daughter, Capri Le'Rae Etheridge at just 23 weeks. From the very beginning, something didn't feel right. At my first sonogram, her father noticed that the fluid around the baby was low. Not long after that, my blood pressure began to fluctuate in the coming weeks of my pregnancy and we learned that Capri was measuring two weeks smaller than she should have.

Everything felt uncertain, but we held on to hope.

The day I was admitted to the hospital, I learned that I had preeclampsia, a very serious condition that was putting both me and my baby at risk. Things moved quickly after that.

I had to have an emergency C-section.

On April 18th, Capri Le'Rae Etheridge entered the world weighing just 14.5 ounces. She was so small, yet so strong. For four days, she fought with everything she had.

On April 22nd, my baby girl passed away.

There are no words that can truly describe that kind of loss. Capri changed my life in ways I'm still learning to understand. She showed me strength, love and resilience in just a few short days.

Now, I share her story not only to honor her, but to bring awareness to premature birth and conditions like preeclampsia. No parent should have to experience this kind of pain, and every baby deserves a fighting chance.

Capri will always be a part of me. Her life mattered. Her story matters.
