I participate to help all moms and families experience the joy of a healthy baby. With around 3.6 million babies born in the U.S. each year, we have a lot of work to do to help them all. In 2023, March of Dimes awarded $5.3 million in grants to brilliant minds working to prevent preterm birth and improve maternal and infant health. Last year, over 24,000 healthcare professionals were trained on topics like implicit bias to ensure all moms receive the best possible care. March of Dimes' advocacy efforts have led to significant policy wins, including the extension of Medicaid postpartum coverage to a full year in 47 states and Washington, D.C., and the signing of 74 state bills into law in 2023. Despite this progress, the fight is far from over. The U.S. still earns a D+ grade for its preterm birth rate, with 1 in 10 babies born too soon. Together we can fight for the health of all moms and babies.
March of Dimes is dedicated to bringing people together to tackle America's maternal and infant health crisis—one person, one community, and one step at a time. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that supports moms and babies every day, every step of the way.
March for Babies connects friends, families, and coworkers to improve the health of families nationwide. Together with March of Dimes, each step forward brings us closer to a healthy future for all.
