I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk.
I also joined the movement in gratitude for my grandson, Wells, born prematurely at 25 weeks. Weighing 1 lb. 12 oz., he had exceptional medical care at Inova Fairfax Hospital NICU and its March of Dimes NICU Family Support program. Today, Wells is happy, healthy and thriving, and has a smile that lights up the world.
Founded in 1938 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the March of Dimes was created to combat the polio epidemic. It successfully funded research leading to the polio vaccine in the 1950s before shifting focus to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality, evolving into a major maternal and infant health organization.
With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help.
