We are proud to share that this year, Christine has joined the leadership board of the March of Dimes and is also acting as co-chair of the March for Babies walk this year! As you are aware, this role is deeply meaningful to our family.
Our story began on March 24, 2019, when Austin & Charlotte Eikenberry were born prematurely at 24 weeks old. Each baby weighed less than 2 pounds. After fighting in the NICU for 36 hours, our babies passed away early in the morning on March 26th, and our entire world changed forever. Despite being provided some of the best care in the world, their organs were too underdeveloped to survive. We spent many months after their death looking for answers about what went wrong with their pregnancy. To this day, we still do not have an answer.
The weeks and years that followed have been filled with a mixture of grief and joy. We will always grieve the loss of our precious children who were never given the opportunity to live a healthy life. However, our lives have been enriched with the healthy birth of our two sons, Luke (5 years old) and Tyler (3 years old). Every year on Austin & Charlotte’s birthday, we like to honor their short lives by inviting our friends & family to join us at the March for Babies walk in downtown LA. Please help us in the fight for healthy moms and babies, so that every family has the opportunity for the best possible start.
