My story is one of incredible strength and extreme sadness. I went into preterm labor at 25 weeks and four days. On October 30,2023 I gave birth to two twin identical girls named Madison Harper Ispass and Lauren Zoe Ispass. On November 10, at 1:50 a.m. my husband and I recieved a phone call from the NICU that Madisons heart had suddenly stopped and she went into cardiac arrest.
The doctors were not able to resusitate her. She died on Novemeber 10, 2023. My husband and I were devastated. We spent the next four and a half months at the NICU and finally our daughter Lauren was able to come home. I am running in honor of my daughter Madison. She left this world way to early and we will do our best to continue to honor her memory. We love you Madison and you are always in our hearts.
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
